Pug ~ More Adventures From The Beach
The new book is great; lots of palm trees coupled with good Pug adventures. And while it’s been a joy to work on, it’s kept me from the beach.
Soon, work on the new book began to take up much of my time and my beach schedule changed. I chose to walk only at low tide allowing me the luxury of walking on a wide, hard packed beach. There’s something about broad expanses of sand and water that appeals to my senses. My favorite beach remains Ocracoke Island for this very reason.
My morning habits were set: French press coffee, email, saltwater tides.com. My schedule was arranged around the tides. As odd as it may seen, it’s a wonderful way to live because it teaches flexibility and hones time management skills.
In short order, my blog posts went from three per week to once a week and rarely contained the educational piece of earlier posts in which a photo of a beach creature followed by a description of said creature.
There is a comfort in the exploration; of finding a treasure of some sort and looking it up in various books about the beach. Internet research, while quick and thorough, does not provide the same sense of accomplishment as flipping though the pages of a well produced book with glossy pages and whose weight has a certain heft perfectly suited for a field guide. I’ve missed that, but I’ve had a great time creating a new Pug At The Beach book and look forward to sharing it with you soon.

I invite you to ponder this ~ what new thing in your life has changed the way you live and how have you adapted?
