Seaweed Peace Sign
I find all sorts of things while walking the beach. Sometimes the things are expected like shells, beach toys, and water bottles. Other times, it's just trash: hair rollers, toothbrushes, shoes - lots of shoes, usually only one and always the wrong size. And sometimes there are the really unexpected things like the pages of a bible- the Old Testament - or triangle shaped disposable paper cups, both scattered widely. But this may be the coolest thing I found in a long time.

In case you're wondering, that's seaweed. The soda bottle was deliberately left in the photo. This picture is part of a photo essay about beach trash as art, and while there is no denying that trash on the beach is offensive, it can, at times, be, well, artful. Look for more on beach trash as art, possibly as a fund raiser, at a later date.
